More Tabitha Stitchits Little Sew-&-Sews; bags

Small Shopper made with remnants
Beach bag - Upcycled from a child's duvet cover

These are examples of my simple tote bags.  They are very easy  to make using french seams and can be made with one or two handles and in any size you like - which makes them perfect for upcycling projects where you have picked up nice pieces of fabric in the remnants bin.

The pattern is quite simple, and if anyone would like me to, I could publish it here...

The next bag I made for my Granny stitchit after she was mugged near her home in London.  Luckily, Granny Stitchit is not your average Granny and chased the two muggers, shouting for help as she went.  The still got away with her bank card and emptied her account, but I like to think she gave them a fright.

So, I made her this one shoulder bag, from Simplicity's easy pattern 2335 - reviewed (not by me) here .

I found the pattern very simple and fun to make... And I have been sewing for under a year, so don't be shy - make a London friendly bag ASAP, or alternatively, ask me to make you one for just £12 each plus p&p!!

Sorry for the poor quality photo - it's the only one I have and the bag has been sent off to its recipient now :)

So, here's a close up of the front mini-pocket.  This I think Granny Stitchit can use for her Oyster Card and Bus pass.

The bag also has a larger, zip pocket, for valuables.  Granny Stitchit wears hers facing the body to stop thieving hands from being able to easily reach in.  I think it is a useful bag for anyone wanting to keep their valuables close.

That's all on bags sew far... Thanks for looking.

Happy stitching,
Tabby xx

Tabitha Stitchit Does Animal Cushions

People who know me know that I have been considering blogging for a while now.  I am hoping it will be a place to express creativity, showcase my sewing wares and muse on the various trappings of modern life.

We will see.

To begin, I will say this - I like to make things.  I make animal cushions to order, and I turn old scarves and scraps of material into beautiful, unique pairs of knickers, amongst other things.  On occasion I also sew bags and bunting, aprons and accessory holders.  I never use new materials - all my little sew and sews are "something new from something old"

Dear readers, please peruse two recently made cushions here and let me know your thoughts.
